There she runs away
as he plays soccer in the night rain
only to meet each other again.
There he waits for her to call
as she cries in public bathrooms
in coffee cups and for Shakespeare
There she ascends little mountains
as his shadow lingers in the dawning skies
only to remember and bleed and rejoice.
There they won't name what they have
as they laughingly find their Elysian fields
their hands find each other so naturally.
They do not realize
they do not understand
they do not know.
Perhaps they hide.
Perhaps they escape.
But he
but she
will never stop discovering.
